Providing information about the latest developments in the Logistics Center at the Governorship of Kars, Minister Binali Yıldırım said, “'Sir, a Logistics Center is being built in Erzurum. Kars was abandoned. It is said that Kars's has been shifted to Erzurum. I saw such an urban legend. We said it then. Now I am saying it clearly; I have no objection to the sweet rivalry between Kars and Erzurum. But no one can afford to take our project from Kars and take it to Erzurum, ”he said.
Stating that the Logistics Center has already been built in Erzurum, Yıldırım said, “Erzurum is separate, Kars is different. The Erzurum project is only a project related to the conventional railway line that we know from Erzincan to Erzurum. Kars project is a part of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project. At the same time, it is a project that will unite our railway network continuing to Kars. It is a project that the Nakhchivan-Kars connection will benefit from in the coming years. Therefore, we will establish such a logistics center in a place where 3 important projects meet. Location work has been completed. Feasibility done. The approximate cost of the center is 50 trillion TL. We will make an investment of 50 trillion. In 2013, we will be engaged in a more visible work here," he said.
