Abdullah Sevinç, General Secretary of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, said that they found it important for Karacadağ Development Agency to work on such a subject. In addition, as a result of the report, the Diyarbakır Logistics Center Strategy Document and the Mission and Vision of the Diyarbakır Logistics sector were revealed. The results of the survey conducted with 80 companies during the creation of the report were shared with the participants; As a result, the annual amount of product shipped out of Diyarbakır was determined as 6,8 million tons and the amount of cargo coming to Diyarbakır from outside was determined as 8,6 million tons per year.
Alternatives to the Place Discussed
In the meeting, the suggestions for alternative locations in the Logistics Center were discussed and the necessity of establishing the center close to the railway was expressed. It is stated that the total cost to be formed for the center to be established will be 10,5 million Euros. After the presentation of the report, DTSO Secretary General Mehmet Aslan Silvan stated that Diyarbakır would be an agricultural center due to the completion of the Braj and the effect of the GAP, therefore they should be taken into consideration when considering the Logistics Center. Opinions of the participants were shared, the final report will be finalized.
