The east of Bursa, which has almost turned into a construction site since last year due to BursaRay stations and bridge renovation works, will begin to breathe easily as of January.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Recep Altepe stated that the metro, bridge and asphalt works on the Ankara Road, which connects the city center to Yıldırım, Kestel and Gürsu, have come to an end, and announced that transportation will be relieved up to 1 month and BursaRay's Kestel services will start in the summer months.

Mayor Altepe, who examined the works carried out by the Metropolitan Municipality on the Ankara Road, said that the activities related to the extension of the BursaRay lines are continuing and the bridges over the streams are being renewed one by one. Reminding that two bridges on Hacivat Creek, Balıklıdere and Deliceçay were redesigned as three lanes each, Mayor Altepe stated that a separate bridge was built for the metro lines on the same lines. Emphasizing that the east of the city has almost turned into a construction site in connection with the works, Mayor Altepe said that the entire vision of the region has changed from infrastructure works to the undergrounding of the existing power lines and environmental arrangements.

Noting that the intense activities have come to an end, President Altepe said, “We want to save our citizens from trouble as soon as possible. Studies have largely recovered. Bridge renovation works in the entire region are almost complete. We have now started asphalt work. Hopefully, the asphalt works will be finished within 1 month at the latest, if the weather permits. In other words, it will be easy to go to Kestel from here and back in January," he said.

Emphasizing that in addition to the bridge renovation and asphalt works, the extension of BursaRay stations to Kestel continues uninterruptedly, Altepe said, “As long as we are ready, we will have extended our stage-stage stations to the east. Our goal is to arrive in Kestel in the middle of next summer. "Our teams work day and night," he said.
