The groundbreaking ceremony of the main station of the Bursa High Speed Train Project was postponed to 23 December 2012

Bursa Governor Şahabettin Harput announced that the main station of the Bursa High Speed Train Project in the city center will be laid on December 16, but the ceremony was postponed to December 23 due to budget negotiations in the Parliament.
In his written statement, Governor Harput stated that the work on “High Speed Train”, which is of historical importance for Bursa and which the citizens are looking forward to, is continuing rapidly.
Reminding that previously the official groundbreaking ceremony of the Bursa High Speed Train Project's main station in the city center, with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç and the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Binali Yıldırım, will be held on 16 December, Harput said:
“There has been a need to make a minor change in relation to the program in question, whose work is currently underway and is planned to be laid on December 16. At the moment, 2013 budget studies are continuing at Tbmm. Considering the fact that the budget works will continue on the 16th of the month and that none of our deputies can attend the groundbreaking ceremony, this program will be held on 23 December. Thus, it will be possible for all our deputies and a broader participation to the high-speed train groundbreaking ceremony to be held on December 23, together with our Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç, our Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Binali Yıldırım and maybe some other ministers.
Of course, it would be appropriate to hold the high speed train groundbreaking ceremony, which is such an important, valuable and historical event for Bursa, with a strong ceremony. In this regard, the need for the ceremony to be postponed to 23 December.
