Binali Yildirim and Aziz Kocaoglu to make a joint resource to IZBAN

Binali Yıldırım, the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, and Aziz Kocaoğlu, the Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, together with the first rail source of the line that will extend İZBAN from Friday to Torbalı, will throw the first mortar of six stations and nine highway overpass together tomorrow. The line is planned to be put into service at the end of 2013.
Minister Yıldırım will come to İzmir tomorrow to start the superstructure works of İZBAN's Cumaovası-Torbalı line. With the completion of the 4-kilometer line, the construction of which began on September 2011, 32, the length of İZBAN will increase to 112 kilometers. The cost of the line will reach 105 million pounds.

188 KILOMETERS ON

The Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications started work to extend the line from Torbalı to Selçuk and from Aliağa to Bergama. While the project works of the 26-kilometer line that will extend İZBAN from Torbalı to Selçuk have come to an end, it has reached the final stage in the project works of the section that will connect Ailağa to Bergama. With the introduction of these three lines, 80 kilometers of İZBAN will have increased to 188 kilometers in total.
Minister Binali Yıldırım said that İZBAN is a successful result of the government and local government partnership. Pointing out that more than 80 million passengers have been transported in 85 years and even in two years, he stated that “It is one of the most important projects of İzmir with passenger numbers. He resolved the urban transportation that had been gangrenous for years and became the main backbone of İzmir's public transportation. ” said. Emphasizing that İZBAN has made 214 thousand trips and covered 10 million kilometers so far, Yıldırım said, “These figures show us how well the service provided is. For this reason, we extend IZBAN more than twice. Infrastructure works of Cumaovası-Torbalı line have finished, now we have started the superstructure. In this project, we have provided a good cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality. ” he spoke. Yıldırım stated that they plan to put the Cumaovası-Torbalı line into service in November 2013 and said that the flight intervals on the 32-kilometer line will decrease up to 3 minutes.
