The Republic of Turkey's founder and first Director General of State Railways, which Behiç Erkin, death was commemorated at the beginning of the 51-year anniversary of the mausoleum located in Eskisehir.

The memorial service was held at the memorial cemetery in Behiç Erkin Memorial Forest, next to the Enveriye train station. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor Ömer Faruk Günay, CHP Provincial Assembly Member Erdal Şanlı, political party and non-governmental organization representatives, railway workers and lovers.

After a wreath and flowers were presented to the mausoleum, Deputy Governor Günay made a statement. Mentioning the importance that Günay Behiç Erkin attaches to Turkish transportation, he said, “He is one of the most important names who contributed to the acquisition of the railways operation in Turkey. The work that Behiç Erkin, who was Atatürk's weapon and colleague, won outside the railway is not counting. It would be nice if he were among us and could see the current achievements of the railway organization he started. We commemorate him with respect on the 51st anniversary of his death. Behiç Erkin's commemoration ceremony ended with applause after prayers.
