High-Speed ​​Train Projects: Ankara-Izmir high-speed train line

The line is planned to pass through Ankara - Afyonkarahisar - Uşak - Manisa - İzmir, respectively. After passing Polatlı, Ankara-Konya high-speed train line will be bifurcated in Kocahacılı, Polatlı in 120. km and proceed in the direction of Afyon.

The total length of the project is expected to be 624 kilometers and the total construction cost will be 4 billion TL. When the line is completed, the travel time between Ankara and Izmir will be 3 hours 30 minutes and Ankara-Afyonkarahisar 1 hours will be 30 minutes.

The infrastructure construction contract for the 287 km Ankara-Afyonkarahisar phase of the line was signed on 11 June 2012 with the partnership of Sigma-Burkay-Makimsan-YDA. The stage, which is 167 km long, is expected to be completed within 3 years. At this stage, 8 tunnels with a total length of 11 thousand meters, 6 viaducts with a total of 300 thousand 16 meters, 24 bridges, 116 underpass-overpass, 195 culverts will be built; 65 million 500 thousand cubic meters of earthwork will be carried out and will cost 715 million pounds.

The construction tender of Afyonkarahisar-Uşak, which is the second stage, is planned to be made by the end of this year. The revision works of the application projects of the Uşak-Manisa-İzmir stage are ongoing.
