The second hearing of the case filed against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Kadir Topbaş regarding allegations of corruption in the procurement of the metrobus was held. Topbaş, who expressed an excuse, did not attend the hearing. The second hearing of the case, which is ongoing at the Istanbul 2st Criminal Court of Peace, was held following the complaint filed by CHP Metropolitan Municipality Council Members Hakkı Sağlam and Bülent Soylan against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Kadir Topbaş regarding allegations of corruption in the procurement of the metrobus. While the complainants Bülent Soylan, Hakkı Sağlam and the lawyers of the parties were present at the hearing, Topbaş expressed an excuse and did not attend the hearing.

After the hearing in front of the courthouse, the CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Oğuz Kaan Salıcı recalled that Kadir Topbaş did not attend the hearing and used the following statements:

We think that Topbaş should consider the call of the people of Istanbul and the call of the judiciary. We will send Topbaş drums again just in case. The next hearing is on February 27th. If the metropolitan local elections are held on October XNUMX, we will enter the metropolitan elections with the case where Kadir Topbaş is tried for corruption allegations. If Topbaş does not want to participate in the election with this black mark, let the water give an account in the court of justice, which we do not think that it dispenses justice. "
In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was alleged that Topbaş made a purchase regarding the metrobus project of the IMM İETT General Directorate, although the financial conditions of the Capa City company were better, and that the Phileas buses damaged the municipality. For this reason, Kadir Topbaş is facing prison terms of 1 to 3 years for "misconduct".
