Metropolitan Mayor İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, who attended the regional meeting of KSO, Istanbul Kartal-Kadıköy He said that he had met with the Prime Minister to extend the subway between Gebze OSB.

Kocaeli Chamber of Industry (KSO) Regional Meeting was held in the meeting room of the chamber of industry. To the meeting; Metropolitan Mayor İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, general secretary Ersin Yazıcı, head of science department Mustafa Altay, head of zoning and urban planning works Gökmen Mengüç, İZAYDAŞ General Manager Muhammet Saraç, industrialists operating in Kocaeli attended. Metropolitan authorities listened to the problems and demands of industrialists.

Speaking at the meeting, the chairman of the chamber, Ayhan Zeytinoğlu, said that it is important to develop the logistics infrastructure in order to spread competition and industrialization to Anatolia. Finding the new incentive package positive, Zeytinoğlu said, “The industrialization process in Anatolia will be limited to certain sectors if strong transportation networks are not provided. We believe that this will only be achieved if the railway networks reach Anatolia effectively.”

Stating that Kocaelini ranks first in Turkey's tax collection with 93 percent, Zeytinoğlu said, “Kocaeli is the second province after Istanbul to meet 13,27 percent of the taxes collected. The expenditure per person from the budget is 1 thousand 629 TL for Kocaeli. However, Turkey average is 4 thousand 193 TL. We know that the Metropolitan Municipality has a limit. We want our share to be increased until it approaches Turkey's average, and we want the infrastructure deficiencies to be eliminated with the money received," he said.

Requesting that a part of the North Anatolian Highway in Kocaeli be tendered together with the railway, Zeytinoğlu said, “The TEM Highway in the north of our city is now insufficient. We also wish to plan the existing highway from Ankara to be connected to the Izmir Highway from the south of Altınova. Because Izmit-Yalova D-130 Highway cannot carry the current traffic. We think that the existing ports and piers should be connected to OIZs and Anatolia by rail.”

President Karaosmanoğlu, who took the floor after the speech of the chairman of the chamber, Zeytinoğlu, said, “As stated, public investments should be more, but there is also a conflict in Turkey. The provinces right next to us say, 'Kocaeli receives so much money per population. Those who bring this place to the fore do not see the burden and responsibility of this place. What costs 1 TL in Erzurum costs 2-3 TL here. The roads and intersections of this place do not belong to Kocaeli, but to Turkey and even to the Middle East," he said.

Istanbul Kartal-Kadıköy Karaosmanoğlu, who said that the metro built between Istanbul and Turkey should be integrated into Gebze and reach the Gebze Organized Industrial Zone, said, “We need to make this issue the most important strategic issue of Turkey by discussing it with our government, our transport minister and our Prime Minister. Municipalities cannot remove the metro, I talked to our Prime Minister about the metro issue, it should all become a state project," he said.
