Haydarpaşa Train Station is being handed over to the Privatization Administration (ÖİB). According to the decision of the TCDD Board of Directors on September 12, the 1.000.000 square meter area where the station is located was transferred to the PA. The project to destroy Haydarpaşa Station is gaining momentum. TCDD Board of Directors reported the 1.000.000 square meter area, which is located in the historical station, which is registered as a protected area, to the PA for the purpose of "making a project that will generate income". Considering that the Haydarpaşa Port project was approved one day later, it turned out that TCDD took such a decision knowing the decision the day before.
The letter sent from TCDD to ÖİB included the following statements:
“Within the scope of the Law No. 1.000.000 and Article 4046 of the Law No. 5793, for the use of approximately 43 square meters of immovable property owned by our Corporation in Haydarpaşa Train Station, Harbor and Back Area, integrating with the historical, cultural and social structure of Istanbul, and making use of it in terms of income for our country and our institution. Our Board of Directors' decision dated 12.09.2012 and numbered 19/200 was taken to notify the Privatization Administration for the purpose of evaluation.

Approval was given to “Haydarpaşa Port”
The final arrangement decision for Haydarpaşa Train Station and Port Transformation Project was passed after the vote on September 13 from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council.
In the Assembly, with 1/5000 scale Haydarpaşa Station Kadıköy While the proposal of the Master Plan for the Protection of the Square and its Surroundings was submitted for voting, the proposal was accepted by the votes of the AKP councilors despite the CHP's rejection vote.
With the decision taken, the necessary approval was given for the arrangements regarding the planning studies of the "Haydarpaşa Port" project, which was initiated in 2007 with the protocol signed in 2009.
