Minister Yıldırım visited Istanbul-Ankara YHT construction site in Bilecik

Binali Yıldırım, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, visited the Istanbul-Ankara YHT construction site in the Osmaneli district of Bilecik.
Minister Yıldırım, who went down to the district stadium by helicopter, performed the Friday prayer at the Rüstem Pasha Mosque. Then, Binali Yıldırım came to the YHT construction site in Osmaneli district and examined the works here and made a press release here. Stating that the high speed train works are continuing at a very high speed, Minister Yıldırım said, “We are holding an informative meeting about the Köseköy-İnönü section of the second part of the Ankara-Istanbul high-speed train project. With the decision we made earlier, we said that we will come together at this construction site on the last Friday of each month and share the 2-month progress with our people. Today we are holding our 1rd meeting. This is the hardest part of the project. It is a 3-kilometer line. It mainly consists of art structures. Tunnels, viaducts make up the majority of the road. There are 150 tunnels within 50 kilometers. The total length of 35 tunnels is 35 kilometers. 59 of them are completely finished. The remaining 16 tunnels have been completed at the level of 19 percent. The total number of tunnels covers 80 kilometers along the line, which was built and completed in 33 months. When the largest tunnel project opened is finished, it will be 34 meters. There are also 7450 viaducts with a total length of 13 kilometers. 28 of them have been completely finished, and the remaining 15 are in progress. progress percentage was completed at the level of 13 percent. There are 75 overpasses, 13 underpasses and 40 underpasses called small culverts in the project. 123 percent of these have been completed. The total excavation and filling work has reached 98 million 14 thousand cubic meters. Rail laying work started on the one hand. During our aerial inspection along the way, we saw that the rail laying continues from Pamukova to this side, and the works have started from İnönü to Bozüyük. A 500-kilometer line in the southern part is ready for rail laying. Here, the harmony of the infrastructure and superstructure is important in terms of the timely completion of the project. Good coordination is required in the work. The project's goal completion date is October 15, 28, but I have bad news for you today. We have brought this date to 2012 September 30. The conditions were required like this. We brought it forward only 2013 month, the completion of all infrastructure works, which is seen as April 1, on March 20, 15, is a new target. We will review our work again. When we consider Ankara-Istanbul in the total project, there are more than 2013 art structures. 750 people are currently working in this region. 2000 work machines are working. The cost of the machine park here alone is over 600 million. This shows the importance of the project. "It is understood how great efforts have been made to complete it on time, or even a little earlier."
Stating that the opening of Marmaray and Istanbul-Ankara YHT will be on the same day, Minister Yıldırım said, “Since the two projects are a continuation of each other, our Prime Minister announced that both Marmaray and YHT line will be opened on 29 October. As such, the date change requires the same change in Marmaray. Both will take place at the end of September. It is a very challenging time, but we trust our contractors. They have accomplished more difficult projects, I hope they will finish this, they will successfully overcome this job. The longings of our citizens for 50 years come to an end as soon as possible and our people benefit from this modern transportation. Our citizens show great interest in high speed train projects. In the surveys, the number of citizens who say that the high-speed train project should continue without slowing down, it should be expanded regardless of the cost, is over 80 percent. Having been in the high-speed train and prosperity of the citizens of the Republic of Turkey, they are perceived as being an indication of the developed countries. The number of those who say that we are proud to be citizens of this country when we have a high speed train is over 80 percent. In addition, when we ask 'what is the benefit to the regions where the high-speed train passes?', The answer we received is 85 percent, and our citizen states that 'it will contribute to the development and economy of that region' ”.
Upon questions about the new station to be built in Eskişehir, Minister Binali Yıldırım stated that the old station will not be demolished, and the new station will be built next to the old station.
Answering the questions about his candidacy for Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, Yıldırım said “We turned to Eskişehir, now it is misunderstood. Become a man, then run for president, it'll be more than one. There is no such thing, ”he said.
