The foundation of Antalya West Ring Road was taken by a ceremony held on Saturday at 22 September 2012 with the participation of Transport Minister of Maritime and Communications Binali YILDIRIM, Antalya Governor Ahmet ALTIPARMAK, General Director of Highways M. Cahit TURHAN, representatives of political parties, mayors and people of Antalya. .
In his speech at the ceremony, General Director of Highways M. Cahit TURHAN said that 13, 5 km Antalya West Ring Road was designed to ensure the uninterrupted, safe and comfortable traffic of the traffic. TURHAN stated that the traffic of the city will be reduced with the opening of the motorway and the traffic density will be reduced significantly and added that with the disappearance of the waiting in traffic, fuel, maintenance and operation costs will be saved and an important contribution will be made to the national economy.
After the General Director of Highways M. Cahit TURHAN, Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Binali YILDIRIM said that the population of Antalya reached the population of Istanbul in the summer and therefore the urban traffic became difficult at times. Stating that the West Ring Road will eliminate this problem, Minister YILDIRIM is the most important transit corridor that will transfer traffic from the Korkuteli direction to Burdur, Denizli and Burdur and Isparta on the main routes leading to Central Anatolia. he said.
13,5 km to the Antalya West Ring Road, west of the city will reach the Duraliler Bridge Interchange. In this region, it will cross the Western Ring Road, Karaman and Çandır streams crossing the existing Çakırlar road and connect to the Antalya-Kemer State Highway at the Free Zone Köprülü Junction. In 2015, the travel time will be reduced by half when the project is completed.
The project is expected to cost 84 Million TL.
