Noting that the ancient city of Mobolla is the historical and cultural heritage of Muğla, Gürün said, “The ancient city of Mobolla is one of the most important archaeological sites of the country with its historical process dating back to the 6th century BC. Our aim is to bring our visitors to the ancient city of Mobolla through the cultural route by showing the old Muğla houses with narrow streets and white walls with all examples of the urban site starting from the historical grain market and Arasta. Thus, we will complete the urban site and the archaeological site, ”he said.

Mentioning that during this period, Mobolla has been working to make it an organized, easily accessible and accessible site where visitors can get information.
“The work here was completed as a route where visitors can follow most of the walls and ruins in general, starting from the urban site, passing through the necropolis area of the city. While this arrangement was made, the old railway sleepers previously used in the Pedesa Ancient City were placed on the slopes of the land ”.
Diler, 2 600 years before the ancient city, the excavations were not done before, Mugla Museum and the University of Mugla Department of Archeology where they applied to make an excavation work, he said.
Stating that the walls in the ancient city were the oldest relic they could show for the settlement history, Diler said:
“In an inscription found on Kalymnos Island, the name 'Mogla' is mentioned. Mobolla is mentioned in an inscription near Muğla. From these inscriptions, we understand that the name Muğla has come from the past to the present. The pottery and pots we found in the surveys show that the settlement here has come uninterruptedly from the archaic age to the Turkish period. However, since no excavations were carried out here, we couldn't show them. "
