Hacettepe University Rail System Engineering Opens

Preliminary studies have started for the first rail system engineering education in Turkey within the body of Hacettepe University Faculty of Engineering. Hacettepe Teknokent AŞ Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Murat Karaşen stated that they are about to start a new project that will contribute to Turkey's economy and announced that Hacettepe University has started preliminary studies within the engineering faculty to open a rail system engineering department in cooperation with TCDD and Turkish rail system companies.

Karaşen stated that the opening of a rail system Vocational School in Ankara Polatlı is also on the agenda of the rectorate and said, “All the wagons and rail system vehicles used in Turkey are imported. It is not only imported, but also sent to the Czech Republic, Germany or France for testing. Thus, hundreds of thousands of euros of foreign currency go abroad. For this reason, we attach importance to the training of rail system engineers and technicians in our country and the establishment of a test center that will serve our country and region.
