Minister of Yıldırım said that 3rd airport will cost 10 billion

Transport Minister Binali Yıldırım said that there are many domestic and foreign candidates for the 10rd airport project in Istanbul, which will cost at least 3 billion TL. Explaining that the expropriation works for the airport have started and they are waiting for the decision of the High Planning Council to be issued, Yıldırım stated that they are planning to announce the tender in September. Yıldırım said, “We will give two months to participate in the tender. Our goal is to finalize the tender before the end of this year ”. Saying that there are many applicants from Germany, China, France, Qatar, Dubai and Japan for the airport construction, Yıldırım said, “There are also local investors. No leaf moves anywhere in the world, we have billion dollar projects. I hope the Turkish company will buy this, ”he said. Stating that the airport will have the capacity to serve 150 million passengers per year, Yıldırım said, “The first phase will primarily have 80-90 million passengers. It has a closed area of ​​750 thousand square meters. 60 meters wide, 3 thousand 570 meters long, runways will be built where giant Airbus A380 planes will land. When it is completed, it will be the 3rd largest square in the world ”.

Yildirim told the Financal Times newspaper that “the third bridge cannot be built” during the tender process, “How do they know that they consulted? The important thing is to do what cannot be done. They never say anything for the good of this country ”. Stating that the company that won the 3rd bridge tender will start construction without waiting for a loan, Yıldırım said, "They will start with equity."
