Habib Soluk, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, said that efforts are continuing intensively for Sivas to meet with a high-speed train.
Habib Soluk, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, who made special statements to our newspaper about the work done so far after the Sivas-Ankara high-speed train project was put into operation, said, “Work continues at a fast pace. Work continues on 252 km of the 143 km section of Yerköy – Sivas, and 88% physical progress has been achieved in infrastructure works. The distance between Ankara and Sivas has been determined as 405 km. When this investment, which we intend to complete in two years, comes into play, we will have eliminated a very important problem for Sivas.”
In 2008, the tender for the construction of infrastructure between Yerköy and Sivas was started. Since the application projects of Ankara (Kayaş) - Yerköy do not have the standards to provide High Speed Train Management, the project has been revised and the project works have been started again in 2010. Yerköy-Sivas infrastructure works are underway.
