Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Binali Yıldırım said, “We do not have a railway project for Adıyaman in the short and medium term. We do not want to make promises that will not come true and disappoint people. ”
Minister Binali Yıldırım, who went to Adıyaman University after the groundbreaking ceremony of the Nissibi Bridge, later visited the Governorship of Adıyaman. Governor Ramazan Sodan was presented to Minister Binali Yıldırım with the figurines of Mount Nemrut and hand-woven carpets.
In his speech, Governor Ramazan Sodan said that Adıyaman had a historical day and that the bridge was of great importance for Adıyaman at the transportation point.
Minister Binali Yildirim, the country's paths opened, stating that they unite the nation, divided roads showed a significant reduction in accidents, he said.
Minister Yıldırım noted that the international airport project, which costs 55 million TL in Adıyaman, has been launched and said that the airport will be a modern area to meet the 30-40 years of need of Adıyaman.
Answering the question of journalists about the railway expectations, Minister Yıldırım said, “We do not have a railway project for Adıyaman in the short and medium term. We do not want to disappoint people by making promises that will not come true. Passing through Gölbaşı district, Malatya, Kahramanmaraş-Narlı line is requested to be connected to Adıyaman. We did work for this. A 62 kilometers long project worth 541 million TL. If this line remains in Adıyaman, it has no meaning. If this is linked to Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep and Syria, then it makes sense. Therefore, it can evaluate the project with other lines in the long term. But such a project from today to tomorrow is in no way productive. There is no use in keeping it on the agenda. ”
Minister Binali Yıldırım later moved to Ankara on a private plane.
