There will be a rail system and high-speed train at the 3rd airport to be built in Istanbul

From the 2023 projects of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdoğan, the details of the 3rd airport to Istanbul have emerged.
As a result of the five-month studies of the Metropolitan Municipality, it was decided to establish the airport on the Black Sea coast. The airport, which is thought to have a capacity of 100 million passengers in the first place, was increased to 120 million upon the order of the Prime Minister. The airport, which will be built in the 3.500 hectare area at the junction of Arnavutköy-Göktürk-Çatalca roads, will have 6 runways. The airport, whose outer texture will be inspired by the Islamic-Ottoman motif of the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne, is aimed to be completed within the same period as the 3rd bridge.
New airport; The terminal building will consist of 5 important facilities with runways, transfer stations, repair facilities, hangars and air transport facilities. The airport, which will consist of a 350-storey building with a 1500 mx 6 m usable area, will be integrated with the 3rd Bridge and North Marmara Motorway. The airport tender, which is planned to be built with the build-operate-transfer model, will be released before the end of 2013. The airport, which will create 100 thousand jobs in its construction, will be visible from space with its distinctive shape. The new airport will be one of the most modern and largest airports in the world with its infrastructure, transportation, passenger and load capacity. The most important factor behind building such a large airport is to move Istanbul's role in the international aviation market forward and to become a regional center for the Middle East, Europe and North Africa.
According to the news of Yasin Kılıç, Zaman, there are still two airports in Istanbul: Atatürk in Yeşilköy and Sabiha Gökçen in Kurtköy. Annual passenger capacities are 2 million people, including Atatürk Airport 2011 million and Sabiha Gökçen Airport 37 million as of 13. Atatürk Airport is above its capacity, while Sabiha Gökçen is below its current capacity. A new airport is planned to be built as Atatürk Airport has exceeded its capacity and is no longer able to meet the needs.
Between 2 July and 3 November 1, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Dr. Dr. A working team was established with the cooperation and financial support of BİMTAŞ under the management of Kadir Topbaş, Deputy Secretary General of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mevlüt Vural and Director of Istanbul Metropolitan Planning and Urban Design Center (İMP), Advisor to the President İbrahim Baz. This team, consisting of urban planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, geography, geology, social sciences and computer-aided design (animation) disciplines, is led by Project Planner and Architect Urban Green Global Manager Sidney Rasekh (AIA), Project General Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Gürcan Büyüksalih and Architectural Coordinator Dr. He worked as assistant of Gülhan Benli. As a result of the studies, the location and properties of the airport, which is planned to be built in Istanbul, were determined. The 12rd bridge and the Northern Marmara Motorway are the most important factors in the construction of the new airport, which is planned to be built in Tayakadin, within the borders of Arnavutköy. The most important transportation decision in the region is the connection road, which is thought to be connected with the 2011rd bridge. This highway passes south of the project area. In addition, there is a motorway junction within the project area, which is thought to be connected with this road. This road, called the Northern Marmara Highway, starts at the junction of TEM Highway in Kınalı, on the western border of Istanbul. Continuing from the coal mines location, it crosses the Bosporus through a suspension bridge. Later, it passes through Paşaköy Mevkii and reaches the İzmir motorway separation around Gebze. Garipçe and Poyrazköy are the main connection points of the 3rd bridge around the Bosphorus. The airport will be surrounded by a new proposal with a maximum population of one million.
