Railway liberalization law goes to Parliament in June

TCDD General Manager Süleyman Karaman, who visited the Railway Transport Association (DTD), announced that the laws on restructuring and liberalization of the railway sector will be sent to the Assembly in June 2012.
DTD Board Chairman İbrahim Öz and DTD members participated in the Railway Transportation Association visit by TCDD General Manager Süleyman Karaman on 14 May 2012. Members of the association had the opportunity to discuss the future of the railway sector with the TCDD powers and the problems and suggestions of the members of the DTD.
President Ibrahim Oz in his speech; TCDD officials conveyed important problems of our association members. Öz, who wishes to make the arrangements regarding the container transport and the arrangements to be made in the tariff not to be made until after the liberalization, has listed the other requests as follows: We would like to cancel the E / 22 Circular for the reason that it should not be charged at a rate of five percent extra, that it constitutes an unfair competition, and full-full transportation is encouraged in all countries. Due to the road closures, our members and the transport companies have significant losses, so we are in favor of road closures to be made in a way that does not hinder the traffic. We expect the laws on the liberalization of railways to be removed as soon as possible. Demir
In his speech, General Director of TCDD Süleyman Karaman said that they know the problems of railway private sector due to road closures and tariff changes. Ün Railway infrastructure is almost unavailable due to its longstanding maintenance. We will maintain all the railway lines in the network until 2023, but we will also consider the DTD's proposal in this regard. X
Karaman, who stated that they will not make any changes in TCDD Goods Tariff, including those considered to be related to container transportation, stressed that the laws regarding the restructuring and liberalization of the railway sector will be sent to the Assembly in June 2012 and will be released in a very short period of time.
