The Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs is implementing a crazy project in Istanbul. The infrastructure projects of Istanbul, the world's new favorite, where giant projects, especially the Financial Center, have been launched. Following the Marmaray and electricity projects that will provide passenger transportation between the two continents, the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs has completed the water tunnel that will pass under the Bosphorus in the Melen Project, which will completely complete the water problem of Istanbul by 2050. The Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs, Veysel Eroğlu, stated that the project, which will be opened by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in July, will serve as a water bridge connecting the two sides of Istanbul from meters below the sea, within the scope of the project, 2.5 million cubic meters of water, equivalent to 2.8 times the water currently used by the European side. Stated that it will move from Melen to the European side.
5 WINS IN YEAR
Explaining that the most important building in the first phase of the Melen Project, which cost approximately 2 billion TL, is the “Bosphorus Tunnel”, Eroğlu said, “The cost of the first phase of the Melen Project is approximately 2 billion TL. "The tunnel was excavated in 1756 days, completed at a cost 10 percent below the anticipated." To dig the tunnel that passes 135 meters below sea level, water pressure resistant and ground conditions special machines were designed. A giant tunnel was dug hundreds of meters deep, quietly and quickly, without damaging the environment and the structures above ground with machines working like a mole underground.
COMES FROM DA VINCI
In the 1500s, the Ottoman Sultan II. Stating that Beyazıd asked Leonardo Da Vinci to build the biggest and most beautiful bridge the world had ever seen on the Golden Horn in order to unite the two sides of Istanbul, Eroğlu said, “This dream was only possible after centuries. The Bosphorus Tunnel, within the Melen Project, functions as a water bridge connecting the two sides of Istanbul from meters below the sea. The Bosphorus Tunnel, which allows water to travel between continents, unites not only Istanbul but also two continents for the first time in the world history ”.
