TCDD approved the tender for the Başkentray Project, which includes the reconstruction of the Sincan Ankara Kayaş train lines. The Ankara-Sincan section of the project will be completed in 15 months and the Ankara Kayaş stage in 18 months.
The Turkish Republic State Railways (TCDD) Board of Directors approved the 186 million 235 thousand 935 euro offer of the Gülermak-Kolin Business Partnership, which is the lowest bid in the tender for the Başkentray Project, which includes the rebuilding of the Sincan Ankara Kayaş train lines. The 36-kilometer-long Başkentray Project, which will make a great contribution to Ankara's urban passenger transportation, also includes many innovations. With the Başkentray Project, which is planned to carry 110 million passengers a year, the Ankara-Istanbul, Ankara-Konya and Ankara-Sivas High Speed ​​​​Train projects will be integrated within the city of Ankara.

184 kilometers of rail will be laid

The existing 4 roads between Ankara and Behiçbey will increase to 2, including 2 high-speed trains, 2 suburban trains and 6 conventional trains. Between Behiçbey and Sincan, a total of 2 roads will be built, including 2 high-speed trains, 1 suburban trains and 5 conventional train. Between Ankara and Kayaş, 2 lines will be built for 1 suburban, 1 fast and 4 conventional trains. A total of 36 kilometers of rails will be laid on a 184-kilometer route. Within the scope of the project, 25 platforms, 13 highway underpasses, 2 highway overpasses, 26 pedestrian underpasses and 2 pedestrian overpasses will be built.

Stations with elevators are coming

The stations will be made available to disabled citizens. Each station will be built with escalators and elevators. Closed station areas where passengers can meet their needs such as food, books, newspapers in Sincan, Lale, Etimesgut, Hippodrome, Yenişehir, Mamak and Kayaş will be formed. Yenişehir station located in the city center at the bottom, the other 6 station on the station will be built modern buildings.

Integrates with subway lines

Başkentray Project will be integrated with the existing rail systems in the city of Ankara. Connections will be made with Keçiören Metro at Ankara Station, with Batıkent Metro at Yenişehir Station, and with Ankaray at Kurtuluş and Maltepe stations. A modern station will be built in Emirler so that passengers in the west of Ankara, which is growing and developing in terms of population, can use YHT without coming to Ankara Station.

A train will arrive every 2,5 minutes.

There will also be places where passenger services will be carried out and shopping areas in the new station to be built. The suburban line will be separated from the transit railway traffic and will be transformed into a more functional, high standard, comfortable, safe and preferable mode of transportation in terms of time, operation and user. With the signal system to be established, a commuter train will be able to operate every 2,5 minutes.
