Increasing the target rail network to 26 thousand km

TCDD General Manager Karaman, 2023 11 thousand kilometers until the 26 thousand kilometers to the railway network said they aimed to increase.

In his presentation at the commission, TCDD General Manager Süleyman Karaman stated that the number of controlled passages increased to 570 thousand, and that this year, 54 level crossings will be made more controlled this year.
Karaman stated that they aim to increase the 2023 thousand kilometers railway network to 10 thousand kilometers by constructing 4 thousand kilometers of high-speed, 11 thousand kilometers of conventional railroads until 26, and continued as follows: “Our country firstly through the realization of projects on the West-East axis and then on the North-South axis. It will be knitted with high speed train network. After Ankara-Eskişehir and Konya, which have reached the high-speed train, Bilecik, Sakarya, Izmit, Istanbul, Bursa, Afyonkarahisar, Uşak, Manisa and Izmir will meet with the high-speed train in the western axis that is under construction. The preparations for the projects covering the provinces of Edirne, Balıkesir, Kütahya, Isparta, Burdur and Antalya continue. In the east of Ankara, Kırıkkale, Yozgat, Sivas, Erzincan, Erzurum, Kars, Gümüşhane, Trabzon, Kayseri, Malatya, Elazığ and Diyarbakır will be included in the high speed train network with the ongoing or planned projects. On the other hand, to the extent permitted by geographical conditions, the construction of fast and conventional lines continues. In this context, Karaman, Niğde, Mersin, Adana, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Mardin, Şırnak (Habur), Bartın will be connected to our national network by high standard railway. Between 2023-2035, it was aimed to connect Antalya to Kayseri via Aksaray and Nevşehir and to Samsun to Ankara via Çorum and Amasya by high speed train. ”
