Agreed for Passenger Carriage at 2012 European Football Championship

Railway companies from Belarus, Poland, Russia and Ukraine signed a memorandum of understanding on transport services for the European Football Championship UEFA 2012.

According to the agreement, the parties agreed to provide additional passenger trains carrying football fans between Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Poland. Accordingly, the parties declared that they will cooperate in order to optimize customs duties and border crossing procedures for participants.

A concept has been developed specifically for the link rail traffic between Russia and Poland, which will continue throughout the Football Championship. On trains running from Moscow to Warsaw, many passengers will transfer from "PKP Intercity" trains to JSC "FPK" trains by Russian train. Passengers traveling from Warsaw to Moscow will take the Polish train to Brest and then transfer by Russian train. This will enable more efficient use of existing rail and infrastructure features.

Some arrangements had already been made for trains departing from Moscow in line with the conditions created by the UEFA 2012 market demand.
