European Union Supports Wagon Production in Hungary

After an 18-year hiatus, the production of Passenger Wagon at MAV Szolnok workshops in Hungary was restarted. The European Union is granting 1 million euros to Hungary for the provision of new equipment for the HF4 · 462bn project.

These facilities will produce vehicles that can reach a speed of 200 km / h to be used in intercity passenger transportation. These IC + vehicles are planned to be put into service on domestic and international lines for the first time in 2013. The vehicles will be produced in modern standards with air conditioning, accessible restroom toilets, GPS-focused LCD passenger information, wi-fi, horse-seat power outlets, CCTV and remote monitoring and diagnosis systems.

Assurance services for the vehicles will be covered by TÜV Rheinland InterCert and certified by TSI standards.
