Islamic Development Bank to finance Iran-Central Asia railway line

The Islamic Development Bank will finance the Iran-Central Asian railway project.

According to the Tajik press, during the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Tajikistan, an agreement was reached for the establishment of lines that will transport rail, oil, natural gas and water resources between Iran-Tajikistan-Afghanistan.

According to the news of Iran's Mehr agency, a meeting was held between Iranian Minister of Economy and Finance Seyed Shamsoddın Hosseini and the President of the Islamic Development Bank Ahmed Muhammed Ali. At the meeting, the Iran-Central Asia railway line project was discussed. Noting that they support the project, Ali stated that they are ready to provide financial resources for the project in question.
