On the Izmir-Ankara High Speed Train (YHT) line, Minister of Transport Binali Yıldırım stated that the infrastructure tender for the Ankara-Afyon section, which is the 1st section, has been completed and that the tender will be made for the Afyon-Uşak and Eşme-İzmir stages. He stated that a project tender was held for the construction of the second line of railways between Manisa.
Minister Yıldırım added that he will undertake the Fahrettin Altay-Narlıdere metro line as a ministry, and that negotiations are continuing on the construction of a metro line between Dokuz Eylül University campus and Şirinyer in Buca.
Minister Yıldırım stated that İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has been carrying out some studies on the cleaning of the gulf, and that they expect a noticeable improvement in solid waste disposal and sludge digestion facilities.
