3. Five offers for the bridge

The second leg of the 'Northern Marmara Highway Project' tender, which also includes the construction of the 3rd Bridge to be built in the Bosphorus, took place today. Five of the 11 companies and consortiums, which received specifications for the first canceled tender, submitted bids, but one was rejected due to missing documents. The tender commission made 'Yes-no determination' in order to determine whether the companies will participate in the tender. The tender will be held at a later date determined.

Making a statement after the inspection, İhsan Akbıyık, Deputy General Manager of Highways and Head of Tender Commission said, “5 offers were received and the evaluation process started. Those with missing documents will be detected. After the determination examinations, companies will be sent an invitation for financial offers in the coming days ”.

Akbıyık also announced that China Communications Construction-Doğuş İnşaat Ticaret AŞ-Yapı Merkezi-Arkon Construction Joint Venture, which bid for the 3rd bridge tender to be made in the Bosphorus, has not received the tender offer due to deficiencies.

At the end of the review, companies with missing documents will be excluded from the tender.

5 company and consortium names are listed as follows:

1- Mapa Construction

2- Yapı Merkezi - Doğuş İnşaat - China China Communication Corporation- Arkon Yapı Joint Venture Group (Offer not received)

3- Cengiz İnşaat - Limak - Makyol - Kalyon Joint Venture Group

4- Italian Salini - Gülermak Joint Meeting Group

5- Italian Astaldi IC- İçtaş Joint Group.

It was considered as a surprise that MAPA İnşaat, which was only owned by Mehmet Nazif Günal, made an offer by itself among the five offers.

The project that will connect Adapazarı to Tekirdağ through the 3rd Bridge to the Bosphorus is 414 kilometers long and has a size of 5 billion dollars.

FIRST CANCELED

Turkey's second largest 'Build-Operate-Transfer' project, which began in the North Marmara Motorway Project for the tender process for the March 9, 2011. The bidding dates were changed three times, and the first bid was held on January 10th, however, no bids were submitted in the first auction due to financial conditions in international markets.

PROTESTO

The third bridge to be built on the Bosphorus, which will be tendered today at the General Directorate of Highways, was awarded to them as' 3. It was protested by a group that called it 'living platform instead of a bridge'.

A group of citizens living in the settlements of the bridge in Istanbul in the morning by bus came to Ankara. Citizens gathered on the street in Kizilay Konur, 'life can not be auctioned' banner opened by the General Directorate of Highways, where the tender was marched with slogans. The members of the group, who made statements in front of the Directorate, demanded the cancellation of the tender. After the announcement, the members of the group dispersed without incident.
