The foundation of the work between Köseköy and Gebze, which is the last link of Ankara-İstanbul high speed train line, is laid on 3 March Tuesday with the participation of 27 minister.

The authorities are working at full speed for the high-speed train operation. The foundation of the Köseköy-Gebze section, the last link of the work, will be laid on Tuesday, March 27 at 15.30 at the Köseköy Train Station. The groundbreaking ceremony; Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Binali Yıldırım, Development Minister Cevdet Yılmaz and European Union Minister Egemen Bağış will attend. With the high-speed train project, the distance between Ankara and Istanbul will be reduced to 3 hours, and the distance between Ankara and Gebze to 2 hours and 30 minutes.

LAST STAGE
The construction of the Eskişehir-Istanbul section of the Ankara-Istanbul High Speed ​​Line, which is the largest high-speed train line in our country, has reached the final stage. In project scope; The physical and geometric conditions of the existing Köseköy-Gebze line, built in 1890, will be made suitable for high-speed train operation. The line will be tendered and there will be no level crossings on it. In addition to the modifications of 9 tunnels, 10 bridges, 122 culverts on the line, 28 new culverts and 2 underpasses will be constructed.

124 MILLION EURO
Within the scope of the construction of the line, approximately 1 million 800 thousand cubic meters of excavation and 1 million 100 thousand cubic meters of filling will be carried out. For the first time in the railways in our country, EU IPA funds will be used in this project. 146 million 825 thousand 952 Euros, which is 85 percent of the Köseköy-Gebze line, whose contract price is 124 million 802 thousand 059 Euros, will be covered by the European Union under IPA. With the revision of Arifiye, the project, which will be integrated with Marmaray, whose total length will decrease from 533 to 523 km, is aimed to be completed in 2013.
