Manaus monorail contract signed

Amazonas Infrastructure Secretariat signed a contract with Scomi Mühendislik-CR Almedia-Mendes Junior and Serveng on January 20 to build a 20 km straddle monorail in the city of Manaus.

The total value of the contract is estimated to be $ 1.45 billion. Scomi Engineering announced its share as 339 ∙ 9 million dollars. This project includes the supply of 10 six car Sutra Train Sets and warehouse equipment, as well as parts keys, a maintenance tool, system integration and project management.

According to data released in August 2011, this line will serve nine stations and Largo will run between Matriz and Jorge Teixeira. It will also have the capacity to carry up to 35 000 passengers / hour per flight. The line is planned to be completed in 2014.

Scomi Monotrilho Intergração carried out the first Brazilian monorail project on 2 June 2011 as part of the consortium.
