Chinese rail network is growing

High-speed rail and highway networks will be completed between 2011 and 2015 in China.

According to the report of the Chinese International Radio, the State Council Ordinary Meeting was held yesterday under the presidency of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. At the meeting, a bill including the works to be carried out for the transportation system during the period of the 12th Five-Year Economic and Social Development Plan was discussed.

During the meeting, during the implementation of the 12th Five-Year Plan, the railway service was planned to cover the regions with wholesale markets and cities with a population of over 200 thousand. In the meeting, where the highways in the rural areas cover almost all towns and villages and the maritime service is expected to reach all over the world, it was stated that the civil aviation network will be expanded further and 42 transportation crossroads will be established throughout the country.
