Erzurum is preparing to become a Middle East Trade Center with its logistics center

Erzurum is planned to reach the high-speed train until 2017. The logistics center to be established within the scope of the project will open the road to Erzurum to become the trade center of the Middle East.
A meeting on the planned investments to be held in Erzurum was organized in Ankara, led by the Minister of Health Recep Akdag. In addition to the planned investments in the city, State Railways (DDY) officials made a presentation about the Palandöken Logistics Center. DDY Erzurum Train Station Manager Ahmet Başar announced that the feasibility report of the high-speed train planned for Erzurum and Kars has been completed and construction works will begin in the summer of 2012.

At the meeting under the chairmanship of Akdağ, where Erzurum's problems were evaluated, deputies of Erzurum Adnan Yılmaz, Cengiz Yavilioğlu, Fazilet Dağcı Çığlık and Muhyettin Aksak were present.
