
Bulgarian State Railways (BDJ), the first new luxury sleeper train wagons are being manufactured on order in Turkey has announced that it expected to arrive in May.
BDJ Director Yordan Nedev told reporters that the first wagons that will renew BDJ's very old wagon fleet will be put into service immediately. According to the information given, 30 of the 20 Turkish-made wagons previously ordered will be delivered to Bulgaria by the end of 2012 and the remaining 10 in 2013.
Stating that one of the most important needs of BDJ is train sleeping cars, Nedev said that express trains operating between Sofia Burgas and Sofia Varna during the summer season will be equipped with new cars.
