Alstom wins Athens metro line 3 extension

Alstom, the Greek construction group J&P Avax and the Italian construction engineering company Ghella corridor won the tender for the design and construction of the southern extension of the Athens Metro Line 3 7.6 km from Haidari to Dimotiko Theatro in the port city of Piraeus for 334 million euros. The project is financed by the European Union and the Greek government.

This line will be at the junction of the Athens metro line 1 and will serve with 6 stations: Agia Varvara, Korydallos, Nikaia, Maniatika, and Pire. The line is expected to serve 135 passengers per day. According to Alstom, the study will be completed in 000.

Alstom is responsible for 32 million euros of the contract for the design and installation of traction power supplies for the line.

Attiko Metro has tendered signal, automatic train control, fare collection, wireless communication and automation and building control works with five separate contracts.
