The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality signs the purchase contract tomorrow for the 250 articulated buses to be added to its fleet. The signing ceremony, which will be attended by Metropolitan Mayor Melih Gökçek and the authorities of the producer companies, will be held at the municipality building at 13.00.
One thousand 90 units within the General Directorate of EGO will be equipped with natural gas and one thousand 786 vehicles.
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Melih Gökçek noted that the fleet will get stronger with 250 new articulated vehicles. Stating that the General Directorate of EGO covers 27-30% of public transportation, Mayor Gökçek informed that the first batch of 50 new buses will join the EGO fleet in July. Mayor Gökçek said, “Our new buses of 18 meters length will also have the latest technological equipment. All single articulated, 4-door buses will have disabled elevators, air conditioning and cameras. The vehicles that will also run on natural gas will be able to carry 36 passengers in total, 116 sitting and 152 standing. " he spoke. Noting that 1991 model vehicles will be taken out of service as the new articulated buses become operational, Mayor Gökçek announced that the new vehicles will serve on long lines.
