The train and armored vehicle manufacturer Uralvagonzavod signed a joint venture agreement with Bombardier to build a tram line in Yekaterinburg. Uralvagonzavod will mount a rail system vehicle with a floor height of 350 mm and a capacity of 210 passengers on the railway.
Group subsidiary Ural Transmash is already forming teams for the Russian market, including some bogie cars with a low floor section. The company now plans to develop a battery-powered tram equipped with lithium-ion batteries that can travel more than 600 km and are expected to run for 000 years.
