Iranian Roads and Urban Development Minister 1 participated in the electrification project of the Mashhad al-Shah line, which was officially launched in February. The first part of the project is expected to be completed in 24 months.
With the electrification and infrastructure upgrades, the passenger trains are planned to reach the speed between 200 km / h and 160 km / s and the travel time of the 926 km line will be reduced from 12 to 6 hours. This project is expected to increase the number of passengers per year from 13 to 20 million.
If the second stage of the line is carried out, it is planned that the current speed can reach 250 km / h and the number of passengers will reach 50 million.
