Professor Dr. Ahmet Vefik Alp: Bosphorus Bridge should be backed by floating tube

Urbanist Professor. Alp proposed the “Auto-ray Floating Tube Project” against the chaos created by the 1st Bridge, which will be taken for a year.
Urbanist Professor. Dr. Ahmet Vefik Alp came up with the idea of the Bosphorus Bridge being closed to traffic for a year and undergoing maintenance. Alp argued that the most correct solution was the "Auto-ray Floating Tube Project". Stating that the bridge should be backed up with the project, Alp said, “The project is completed as the“ subway ”of the Istanbul subway with the state-of-the-art 'submarine buoyant' system between Söğütlüçeşme and Levent. On the busiest travel axis, the Levent region is reached directly by metro from the Anatolian side. Vehicles can also pass through 'Yüze Tüp'. Bridges are supported and backed up. In parallel with the development of off-shore oil platforms technology in recent years, float systems based on the lifting power of water have come to the fore. ”

Professor Alp continued as follows: “There is no earthquake risk, it is economical and fast. The 'Floating Tube' does not descend to the bottom of the sea 60 meters like the tube passage. As it passes through the water, the entrance and exit ramps are close to the level and the travel is comfortable. It is not necessary to go far to enter the tunnel. Large parking lots are built at both ends, auto-metro is integrated. ” Alp stated that the project is environmentally and nature friendly as an image and said that expropriation is not required.
