Istanbul Metro will be discarded this year

Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir and Adana metropolitan municipalities have applied to the ministry after the arrangement to transfer the investments of Metro to the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications.

The length of the metro lines that the four municipalities want to be completed reaches the 165 kilometer.

The transfer signatures of Istanbul, Adana and Izmir are expected to be launched in 2012. Bakirkoy-Beylikduzu Line and IDO-Incirli-Kirazli Line which are planned to be constructed in Istanbul, Üçyol-Üçkuyular Metro and Bornova-EVKA-3 metro line are located in Izmir. In order to solve the urban traffic and transportation problem of Adana, the metron must be completed as soon as possible.

Adana Metro will be transferred to the Ministry of Transportation and the part to be completed until the university will be completed as soon as possible. However, there is no clear date for the transfer of the Adana metro. The ministry will transfer the relevant metropolitan municipalities to their businesses after completing the construction of these subways. However, municipalities will transfer the 15 of their revenues to the Treasury.

Cost in Ankara 3 billion

In Ankara, where the 44 line is located on the 3 kilometer, the metro transfer agreements were signed in June 2011. The ministry will launch the Ankara Batıkent-Sincan line in 2014.

The transfer signatures of Istanbul and Izmir are expected to be launched in 2012. Pre-qualification proposals were received in June in the tender for the completion of the construction of the metro, the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications. The pre-qualification of the eligible 12 will be taken in the coming days. 15 thousand 360 km long Red Crescent-Çayyolu, 16 thousand 590 km-long Batıkent-Sincan, 9 thousand 220 km-long Tandogan-Kecioren line will be completed in the first quarter of 2014. 3 will start operating 2 lines within the year from the delivery of the Ankara Metro located at different routes.

Batıkent-Sincan line will be commissioned first among the routes with different physical progresses. A total of 3 million 564 thousand passengers will be transported per day in all subways. Meanwhile, with the updated prices of Ankara metros will cost 3 billion 40 million liras cost.

A senior official from the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications stated that the shortage of these subways led to a major traffic congestion in urban transport, adding that this congestion caused a loss of time and money and increased emissions. He said that the total cost of the 3 billion 40 million 290 thousand TL project, deemed necessary for Ankara, was approved by the Ministry of Development.
