10% of Transportation Investments in İzmir: The fact that the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication, Binali Yıldırım, was a deputy from İzmir returned to the city as an investment. In the 2012 investment program, there are 15 İzmir projects of 610 billion 28 million lira belonging only to this ministry, while the amount of investment to be made in İzmir in 2012 will be 1 billion 152 million liras. The 2012 Investment Program, prepared in line with the targets envisaged in the 2012 program in the Ninth Development Plan, was published in the repeating issue of the Official Gazette and entered into force. In the program, a total investment of 2 billion 622 million lira was envisaged this year for 38 projects. The total investment to be made for 168,7 thousand 2 projects will be 622 billion 361 million liras. The Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications received the largest investment item in terms of quantity this year, with 956 billion 12 million 310 thousand liras. It was followed by education with 200 billion 5 million lira, and agricultural projects with 907,2 billion 5 million lira. On the other hand, the 528,5 million lira appropriation allocated for the Project of Supporting the Infrastructure of the Villages (KÖYDES) and the 550 million lira allocated for the Water Sewerage and Infrastructure Project (SUKAP) were not included in the investment program totals.
15,2 BILLION Lira INVESTMENT IN TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATION TO İZMİR
While there are 420 projects in the field of transportation and communication in the investment program, 28 of them were prepared for İzmir. While there was a huge increase in the investments made in the city after Minister Yıldırım became a deputy for İzmir, this situation also manifested itself in the 2012 Investment Program. The total investment value of SUKAP's Izmir projects, which entered the program, reached 15 billion 609 million 710 thousand liras.
10 PERCENT OF THE TRANSPORTATION INVESTMENTS TO IZMIR
2012 percent of the 12 billion 310 million lira investment in the Ministry's Investment Program for 9,45 will be made in İzmir. The total amount of these will be 1 billion 152 million 227 thousand liras. Ankara-İzmir YHT is one of the projects with the highest share this year with 300 million liras. 100 million TL was allocated for the construction of Çandarlı Port and 57 million TL for the construction of Kemalpaşa OSB Railway Connection and Logistics Center. The amount allocated for the Gulf Crossing Project, which is of great importance in İzmir, was 1,5 million liras.
