Intercollegiate Skiing Started at Ilgaz

Interuniversity Ski Running Competitions started at Ilgaz Mountain Yıldıztepe Ski Center.
The races, which were started by Çankırı Governor Şemsettin Uzun, will end on February 18, 2010.
Turkey University Sports Federation Authorized Assoc. Dr. İsmet Sayhan thanked Governor Şemsettin Uzun who honored the natural beauty of Ilgaz and the track was suitable, it would be a good competition and honored them at the opening of the competition.

Governor Uzun, Ilgaz gave information to the press about the chairlift and teleski project planned for Yıldıztepe and Doruk. Governor Uzun, the ski lifts and cable cars will make greater contributions to the region's winter tourism, he said.

Gazi, Agri Ibrahim Chechen, Republic, Istanbul, Caucasus, Kastamonu, Niğde and 80 athletes participated in the University.
Today's Northern Discipline Ladies Free 5 km. races from Kafkas University

Beybin Ürgün took the second place, Mehtap Baştuğ from Niğde University and Burcu Yeğin from Kastamonu University took the third place. In the Northern Discipline Men's Freestyle 10 km races, Burhan Oğlağo from Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University came first, Recep Efe from Gazi University and Ekrem Yıldırım from Kastamonu University came the third.

On February 17, 2010, Northern Discipline Sprint Ladies and Men's 1500 meters, February 18 Northern Discipline Flag Women's 3 × 5 km and Men's 3 × 10 km races will be held and the competition will end with the award ceremony.
