Construction does not end before the selection. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality does not have any funding shortage regarding the project. The new firm also has certain problems. Construction is going slowly. It was a while for Üçyol-Üçkuyular, but it doesn't end when it's not done, what am I going to do, will I tighten the man's throat? We constantly warn the company doing the construction. It is currently out of the question to open a lawsuit or to hold a new tender. "

The foundation of the Üçyol-Üçkuyular metro line was laid in June 2005. Bayındır İnşaat, under the control of the SDIF, which won the tender for YTL 91 million, slowed down the works first and then had to stop it due to the economic crisis it fell into. Metropolitan Municipality terminated the construction contract in November 2006, based on legal procedure and specification. Bozoğlu İnşaat took the new tender, and a contract was signed between the municipality and the company on May 8, 2007.

İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu announced that they aimed to complete the 5.5-kilometer Üçyol-Üçkuyular metro line by the end of 2008. There will be 5.5 stations on the 6-kilometer Üçyol-Üçkuyular metro line, which will be implemented by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with its own resources. The stations will be located in İzmirspor (Military Hospital), Hatay (Colored), Göztepe (Theology Crossroad), Polygon, Güzelyalı (Güzelyalı Tansaş) and Fahrettin Altay (Fahrettin Altay Square). With the commissioning of the line, the distance between Üçyol and Üçkuyular can be reached in about 9 minutes by metro. With the commissioning of the line, the number of metro passengers is expected to increase from 90 thousand to 160 thousand.
