Thales SEC Transport signed a new signaling contract for China's Zhengzhou Metro line 6. Thales SEC Transport will create an innovative signaling system for the Zhengzhou Metro line 6 Phase 1 project aiming to achieve zero operational interruptions. Tstcbtc ® 2.0 signal system is used in Shanghai Metro line 5 and Line 14 projects, and China's Zhengzhou Line 6 Phase 1 project is one of the most important projects in urban rail transit construction, which will significantly increase urban mobility.

The line runs from Jiayu city station to Xiaoying station, with a total run length of 39.2 km (2.8 km elevated, 36.4 km underground), 26 stations (one elevated and 25 underground), and including nine exchange stations.

As TST's first signal project to be awarded in Zhengzhou, it represents TST's business footprint expanding to 15 cities in mainland China. The newly awarded Contract demonstrates that this TST self-improving technology is recognized not only by the Shanghai market but also by the wider Chinese market, and Thales' strategy to localize research and development through the joint venture has demonstrated great success.

Thales JV in China - Thales SEC Transport (TST) recently signed a contract with Zhengzhou Metro to provide the innovative TSTCBTC 6 signaling system for the city Subway line 1 Phase 2.0 project. This is the first signal project that TST was awarded in Zhengzhou, and it expands the company's business footprint to 15 cities in mainland China.

Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province and the main city of China's Central Plains city cluster, has a significant geographic advantage. The Zhengzhou Line 6 Phase 1 project is one of the most important projects in urban railway transit construction, which will significantly increase urban mobility. The line runs from Jiayu city station to Xiaoying station, with a total run length of 39.2 km (2.8 km elevated, 36.4 km underground), 26 stations (one elevated and 25 underground), and including nine exchange stations. The city's Zhongyuan District will strengthen the transport links between Erqi district and Zhengdong new District, as well as expand westward to include Xingyang Donglin Lake District in the rail transit service area.

The project will run with full IPR (intellectual property rights) on TSTCBTC 2.0, an innovative signaling system developed by TST. With the revolutionary dual CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) architecture, the system aims to achieve zero disruption in operations by creating a high level of redundancy and availability. It also significantly simplifies roadside equipment and reduces lifecycle costs, thus greatly simplifying maintenance.

The high availability and reliability of the system has confirmed that in Shanghai Metro line 5, China's first metro line, operation, construction and renovation are carried out simultaneously. In addition, the Shanghai Metro line 14, the GOA2021 FAO (fully automatic operation) model line scheduled to come into service in 4, also chose tstcbtc ® 2.0 as the signal system.
