Saying that they want to implement the project, which stands out with its ability to adapt to different usage and investment scenarios, DEU Rector Prof. Dr. Nükhet Hotar said, “Research and development and innovation lie on the basis of technological development. At this point, providing an environment where researchers can work comfortably is among our most important duties. With our Gama Center, we will strengthen the technological infrastructure of our university in this period of increasing competition in the world and in our country; We will transform the innovation ecosystem that will be formed here into added value for our country.”

The winning project in the competition held for the Gama R&D and Innovation Center, which will be added next to the Alpha and Beta buildings in the Tınaztepe Campus of Dokuz Eylül University Technopark (DEPARK), which hosts 120 companies and contributes more than 10 million dollars to the city's economy, is determined. it happened. In the competition where many applications were made, the project of İki Artı Bir Mimarlık won the first place. In the project in question; Leasable area opportunities, contribution to the silhouette of the campus, the convenience of construction, operation and maintenance costs, and its ability to adapt to different usage and investment scenarios came to the fore. Stating that they paid attention to economic and rational solutions while planning the Gama R&D and Innovation Center, DEU Rector Prof. Dr. Nükhet Hotar said, “Research and development and innovation lie on the basis of technological development. At this point, it is one of our most important duties to provide researchers with an environment where they can work comfortably. Our first selected project came to the fore with its ability to adapt to investment scenarios and flexibility according to the demands of entrepreneurs. While planning our new building, we also paid attention to being environmentally friendly. Our building will adapt to the structure of our Tınaztepe Campus, with its fragmented mass setup that does not block the wind and producing shaded outdoor spaces. In the architectural project competition, all valuable projects were meticulously examined and the winner was determined.”

Reminding that the Technology Development Zone (TGB-1) in Dokuz Eylul University's Tınaztepe Campus has reached 27 thousand 631 square meters with the Presidential Decree, Rector Hotar said, “This decision is DEPARK, which has a total turnover of 250 million TL and contributes to 10 million dollars in exports to the city. The Gama R&D and Innovation Center, which we plan to implement in the TGB-1 area, will also be the most important driving force in the realization of the targets we have set before us. With our Gamma Center, we will strengthen the technological infrastructure of our university in this period of increasing competition in the world and in our country; We will transform the innovation ecosystem that will be formed here into added value for our country.”

WE HAVE A TARGET OF 3 THOUSAND R&D PERSONNEL

DEPARK General Manager Prof.Dr.Özgür Özçelik stated that the Gama R&D and Innovation Center, which is planned to host approximately 3 thousand R&D personnel, will bring a new breath to İzmir and said, “Many companies from various sectors have already started to show interest for Gama. Gama Buildings will be a center where R&D projects that will contribute to domestic and national production will be developed, and will host more entrepreneurs with our renovated incubation center. We will continue to grow with new projects and targets by accelerating our work on this path we started under the leadership of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Nükhet Hotar, and with the courage we took from him.”

GAMA R&D AND INNOVATION CENTER

Gama R&D and Innovation Center, designed by İki Artı Bir Architecture as four different blocks, prioritized the strategy of making available leasable areas. All of the A, B, C and D blocks were designed as a construction area of ​​46 square meters. In the center, which will have a leasable area of ​​630 thousand 18 square meters, a common area of ​​265 thousand 28 square meters has been created. The center, which will come to the fore with its strong corporate representation and rational solutions, is aimed to be completed in four stages. Gama R&D and Innovation Center, which will attract attention with its innovative structure, will include shared offices and wet laboratories, digital laboratories, commercial and social areas. In the common areas within the project plans; There will be an incubation center, conference hall, meeting room, circulation and meeting sections, management floor, shelter and technical areas, informal shared interaction sections, a restaurant, cafe and various socializing areas.
