It has been reported that the trial track of the high-speed railway between Indonesia's Jakarta city and Bandung is ready for tests. According to the latest information given by China International Railway Inc., tests with electrical energy started on the trial piece of the Jakarta-Bandung railway, after the high-speed train of Chinese origin departed from the city of Jakarta last week.

The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project is an example of concrete cooperation between China and Indonesia within the framework of the Belt and Road joint construction. The Electric Multiple Units (EMU) and Comprehensive Inspection Train (CIT) sent to Indonesia were designed and manufactured by Qingdao Sifang Company of China Railway Vehicle Corporation (CRRC).

The 142 kilometers long Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway has a maximum design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Thus, the journey between Jakarta and Bandung will be reduced from 3 hours to 40 minutes. Upon completion of construction, this line will be the first high-speed railway in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
