IETT increases the number of buses and voyages, depending on the winter schedule, shortly before the start of the new academic year 2012-2013. Taking measures on the Metrobus line, IETT increased the number of metrobuses to 400.
In the first day of the beginning of the school year, IETT took measures to prevent any problems in transportation.
Free public transport on Monday, September
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council decided to open the schools with a decision 17 September 2012 on Monday, the public transport of the city between the morning 06.00 13.00 decided to be free between the hours. In accordance with the decision taken, 17 September 2012 will open in Istanbul on Monday; IETT, Istanbul Bus Co, Private Public Buses, Metrobus, Nostalgic Tram, Tunnel, City Lines ferries and transportation of the subway, light subway, tram and finial vehicles 06.00-13.00 hours will provide free service to Istanbulites.
