IBM Launches Watsonx Platform for the Spread of Artificial Intelligence

IBM has announced Watsonx, a new AI and data platform designed to enable organizations to scale and accelerate the impact of advanced AI with trusted data. The Watsonx platform, with its artificial intelligence development environment, data warehouse and management toolkit, provides technology support for organizations to quickly train, optimize and implement artificial intelligence models throughout their operations.

Watsonx includes 3 product sets: IBM watsonx.ai, an enterprise environment for traditional machine learning and new Generative AI; IBM watsonx.data, a data store optimized for AI workloads, based on open lakehouse architecture, and IBM watsonx.governance, which provides end-to-end governance for AI. These kits increase business performance by enabling organizations to build and deploy AI models using their own data.

Organizations have access to core and open source models built and trained by Watsonx and IBM, as well as a data repository to collect and clean training and optimization data. Thanks to this platform, customers can create their own artificial intelligence models or adapt existing artificial intelligence models according to their own data. However, organizations can deploy these AI models at scale in a more reliable and open environment to drive business success.

IBM Turkey Country Manager and Technology Leader Volkan Sözmen said the following about the platform:

“Watsonx provides the solution they need with ready-made AI models that will greatly reduce upfront costs by enabling organizations to build AI models using their own data or expand AI capabilities through customization. These models can be deployed at scale in a trusted environment, helping our customers achieve their business goals set by their AI capabilities much faster and more effectively.”

IBM also offers several planned enhancements, including GPU infrastructure as a service to support heavy AI-based workloads, and an AI-powered dashboard to measure, monitor, manage and report cloud carbon emissions. These planned enhancements include Watsonx from IBM Consulting and a new application for Generative AI to support customers' AI deployment.
