Ferrari unveiled the one-of-a-kind 'Ferrari 812 Competizione' at a special event at Casa Ferrari during Monterey Car Week. This one-of-a-kind Custom Made car was inspired by the Ferrari Style Center's (Centro Stile Ferrari) 'blank page' concept, which is how they begin their creative research for each new model. The car, in which the Special Design concept is applied, is one of the 999 Ferrari 812 Competizione, a limited and extremely special series designed for lovers and collectors of the twelve-cylinder car. The original inspiration of the car stands out with the commemorative plaque inside.

The process of developing the craftsmanship techniques used to create the original and creative patterns on the vehicle has taken place over a year of close collaboration between the Ferrari Style Center and the Custom Design team at Ferrari, which handles the most innovative customization projects. The most challenging task that stood out in this process was to strike the perfect balance between the process of realizing the perfect technique and the process of preserving creativity and artistic craftsmanship. Ferrari chief designer Flavio Manzoni guided the artistic craftsmanship with the uniquely detailed drawings that inspired the 812 Competizione.

The Specially Designed 812 Competizione will be auctioned at the Ferrari Gala on October 17th in New York. All proceeds from the Gala, which will be attended by the community of Ferrari customers, will be donated to charities as part of the educational support projects that the 'Prancing Horse' conducts philanthropy.

Modern design in the Ferrari tradition

The car was originally conceived to resemble the iconic yellow cards in which the Maranello designers transfer their initial ideas, insights and notes from their minds to paper. These yellow cards, on which detail upon detail, idea after idea are added and constantly renewed, are important as papers on which new concepts, unique stylistic features and shapes that will become a part of Italian automotive design history are created. On top of the three-layered matte yellow car, an additional application of sketches in matte black, which traces the chief designer's most iconic elements, has been added.

The same concept is reflected in the interior as well. The new generation Alcantara upholstery covering the cockpit of 812 Competizione, made of 65 percent recycled polyester and presented as the world premiere at Ferrari Purosangue, draws attention with its design drawings embroidered directly on it using a highly innovative technique. This solution stands out as being truly unique, as Ferrari often uses leather for such special motifs. The elegant interior trim is complemented by the black trilobal Superfabric used on the passenger compartment carpet and rear wall.

Dedicated to a small group of collectors and enthusiasts of the noblest Ferrari tradition, the 812 Competizione aims for maximum performance without compromise. The driver who will drive the 812 Competizione becomes one with the vehicle, which guarantees immediate response to controls and full control, even in the most complex manoeuvres, on the road and on the track. Driving excitement is always at the highest level, with the contribution of the independent all-wheel steering system that provides agility and cornering precision and the 830 hp V12, the most exciting on the world automotive scene. The engine, on the other hand, combines its impressive power with the sound that Maranello 12-cylinder enthusiasts know all too well.

The Ferrari Custom Design Program is a special program dedicated to customers who want to personalize their Ferrari with the goal of having a car that directly reflects their character and personal tastes. While a team of experts supports the customers participating in the program, the process is managed by a personal designer who interprets the wishes of the customers while respecting the aesthetic standards of the brand.
