Hyundai Motor Company has finally introduced the New Tucson model with a global launch online. The car in the long awaited C-SUV segment has an experimental design and cutting-edge technology that sets new standards.

Introduced for the first time in 2004 and sold over 7 million worldwide, Tucson also achieved 1.4 million sales in the European market. Increasing Hyundai's image in terms of design as well as its reputation in all markets, Tucson now highlights the brand's new Sensuous Sportiness design identity.

Based on the Vision T Concept introduced at the Los Angeles AutoMobility Fair last year, New Tucson brings a different perspective to the compact SUV segment with its extraordinary design features. Hyundai Tucson also offers alternative models to electric cars in the European market with hybrid, plug-in hybrid and 48-volt mild hybrid engine options.

Tucson, a global model that Hyundai offers in almost all markets, will be produced simultaneously in several different factories. Including Turkey found to be produced in Nosovice plant in Czech republic to the European market in Tucson, with the exception of gasoline and diesel engines will be the home of one of the favorite models in the area again.

Speaking about the new Tucson, Hyundai Europe President and CEO Michael Cole said, “With our hybrid, plug-in hybrid and 48-volt mild hybrid engine options, we are increasing our interest and experience in electric models. Globally, we are a brand with more than one electric model and it is extremely important that we make such a move, especially in the SUV segment. “New Tucson, which is an important milestone for Hyundai, will also double our rise and commitment in Europe”.

“Parametric Dynamics”: the last step in SUV design

The New Tucson, which comes with a completely different design from its previous generation, represents a revolution for Hyundai in this respect. In general, Hyundai Tucson, which has a larger and wider body than its predecessor, draws a very strong SUV image with its more muscular stance, tough and sharp lines and dynamic proportions compared to its previous generation. The popular model, developed according to the “Sensuous Sportiness” design identity, is characterized by its proportion, architecture, style and technology.

Apart from its design, Tucson, which has been implemented with innovative technology and high-end mobile solutions, aims to establish a wonderful bond with its owner. Avoiding traditional drawing and sketching methods, Hyundai designers produced geometric algorithms with the latest digital technology. In this way, they developed the futuristic design elements of New Tucson to the advanced level. Known as "parametric dynamics", this design process uses lines, angles, and parallel lines created with digital data to create a unique aesthetic.

The most prominent feature of the model is the new parametric hidden headlight system that integrates with the design. The headlights that appear when the vehicle is started provide a very strong first impression at the front. When the lights go out, the geometric patterns that dominate the front of the vehicle come to the fore. Thanks to this state-of-the-art lighting technology, when the daytime running lights are turned on, the dark chrome look of the grille turns into jewel-like shapes.

The parametric design line also draws attention as an important design element on the side of the vehicle. Hard transition surfaces create a stylish and highly masculine silhouette. At the same time, it gives the impression that the vehicle is moving forward even when standing, creating a striking contrast to the whole vehicle. Dynamic lines, 19-inch wheels and large air intake bumpers provide a powerful and athletic stance. Tucson's sporty design lines are further emphasized with chrome parts starting from the side mirrors and continuing to the C column.

When viewed from the side, the surrounding doors create a very solid harmony with dynamic and angled plastic dodics. Tucson, which also has parametric hidden stop lights at the rear, continues the main design theme here. Tucson's rear bumper is integrated with a three-dimensional effect supported by parametric pattern details. Tucson, the first Hyundai model to have hidden rear wipers placed under the spoiler, also has a three-dimensional logo made of smooth glass. Tucson, which will be produced with nine new color options, also has a double roof color option.

A gorgeous interior and more technology

The sophisticated and spacious interior of Hyundai Tucson also has three different color combinations. Unlike previous Hyundai models, there are unusual lines in the new generation interior, which resembles a technology base. The technology and information compatible cockpit is inspired by the waterfalls. The silver-colored lines that run from the center console to the rear doors have been integrated with first-class materials.

In Tucson, which will set out with the goal of becoming a segment leader, the seamless integration of technology continues with digital experience. The new 10,25 inch AVN-T screen completely fills the cockpit of the vehicle. Hyundai designers abandon physical buttons and conventional buttons, and realize the entire operating and control mechanism through AVN. Air conditioning, ventilation and multimedia functions can be controlled by touch. The Tucson, the first Hyundai model to feature a full touchscreen console, also features a low instrument panel. The car, which comes with a digital display instead of analog, instantly transmits all information about the driving to its driver. In the two side pockets of the center console, there is a wireless charging pad and storage compartments, as well as ambient lighting with 10 different brightness levels.

The dynamic proportions of Tucson, which has a completely new body and platform, prioritize the comfort and spaciousness of the passengers. New Tucson, which is 20 mm longer, 15 mm wider and 10 mm increased wheelbase compared to the previous generation, is simply wider than ever. Especially rear-seat passengers will be able to enjoy an additional 26 mm of legroom and take long journeys for hours. Meanwhile, boot capacity has been increased from 33 to 107 liters, depending on the engine and powertrain chosen. The volume announced by Hyundai is 620 liters and can reach up to 1.799 liters when the seats are folded.

Tucson, which will be available with Hyundai's advanced HTRAC four-wheel drive system, will also have an optional 4 × 2 option. The car, which has been tested many times at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, which is considered one of the most challenging racetracks in the world, is equipped with a new type of suspension system that is very sporty and at the same time promises comfort. The electronically controlled suspension system (ECS) can change its stiffness and rigidity according to driving modes. Offering a high level of comfort with its MacPherson strut and multi-link suspension at the rear, Tucson does not forget safety with its new brake system. Working in harmony with the suspension, the "Engine Driven Hydraulic Steering (R-MDPS)" can instantly change its reactions according to the modes and offers a high level of driving pleasure to the user.

New engine options

Tucson, which has three electric motors and four different transmission options, also has two internal combustion engines. The vehicle, which will also be offered for sale with gasoline and diesel engines, must adapt to every purpose of use. Promising turbo gasoline and more economical diesel than ever, 48 volt mild hybrid will easily meet all expectations in the compact SUV segment. In addition, it will contribute to both the environment and fuel economy with three different hybrid options.

The most important engine in the new Tucson is the 1.6 T-GDI Smartstream. Equipped with Hyundai's Continuously Variable Valve Time (CVVD) technology, this engine will focus on performance and fuel efficiency at the same time. Using this engine, Hyundai will also offer a plug-in hybrid version with 265 PS.

The vehicle will be available in Europe towards the end of this year and a more sporty N Line version will be introduced next year.
