Who is Hüseyin Peyda?

Hüseyin Örmen, (January 27, 1919, Sanliurfa - July 30, 1990, Istanbul) Turkish actor.

Peyda played the villain characters in most of the Yeşilçam movies. He played with Cüneyt Arkın in many films. He became known in film circles as a filmmaker who invested his earnings from the films he played in the films he directed.

In 1946, he entered Istanbul University Faculty of Letters, Department of Philosophy. However, he left the department in the 3rd grade and entered the business life, but was not successful. For a while, he published a magazine called Türkyolu with Niyazi Ahmet Banoğlu. With the bankruptcy of the magazine, it also withdrew from this sector. For a while, he also worked in women's hairdressing. One day, he meets Sezer Sezin and steps into Yeşilçam through him. He later founded a film company. He wrote scripts and made films under the name of Hüseyin Kazasfil. He creates various productions with Önder Film. However, over time, the company Önder Film goes bankrupt.

In a statement Peyda made, he describes his early years as follows: “I was seeing a future for myself in cinema. But there was a problem. I belonged to one of the well-established families of Urfa. My relatives did not allow me to use our last name. At that time, cinema was a bad business in the eyes of our society. If you are an eastern person, you should stay away completely. "

Peyda, who lamented the lack of job security in the sector, explains this situation as follows: '

“In 73, we were shooting movies with Hülya Koçyiğit in Yedikule Dungeons. The arc lamps used emitted ultraviolet rays. We could only use rays when there was a glass in front of it. A glass is broken, ultraviolet rays come directly to our eyes. We were in danger of losing our eyes with Hülya. After shooting, I couldn't see anything for three days. We passed by saying work accident. "

Hülya Koçyiğit gets better, but Peyda loses an eye after this incident. At the 14th Antalya Film Festival, he received the best actor award for his role in The Bride with the Black Linen.

He died on July 30, 1990 at the age of 70 at Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital, where he was treated for lung cancer. He lies in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
