French Woman Shooting Nude Video on Sacred Bridge Arrested

Indian police arrested a French woman who shot a nude video and posted it on social media on a bridge considered sacred in the city of Rishikesh. A 27-year-old woman named Marie-Hélène, released on bail, faces up to three years in prison if convicted of violating internet usage laws.

A French woman was arrested after she posted a nude video on a sacred bridge called Laxman Jhula in the northern Indian city of Rishikesh, Indian police announced on Saturday.

It was announced that Marie-Hélène, who was detained on Thursday, was released on bail and her mobile phone was confiscated.

Hélène will be tried for alleged violations of the laws governing internet use in the country. Indian law stipulates prison terms of up to 3 years for sharing sexually explicit content.

"Perhaps these things are not questioned in France, but Rishikesh is a sacred place and he is the bridge where Lakshman Jhula, Hindu gods Ram, his brother Lakshman and his wife Sita cross the Ganges, where he filmed himself." found in the description.

The French woman, released on bail, said that she sold pearl necklaces online and shot the video to promote her business.

The Lakshman Jhula bridge, considered sacred, collapsed after the flood disaster in 1924 and was rebuilt between 1927-1929 and opened to pedestrian traffic. (€ news)
